IDEATION is the brainchild of Mark Riva, a veteran of the creative and innovation industries. A multifaceted thought-leader in diverse roles as artist, writer, researcher, designer, speaker, presenter, promoter, producer, publisher, consultant, strategist, facilitator, and program developer, Riva has worked with many renowned artists, authors, educators and scientists including Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi (Flow Network), Philip Zimbardo (Heroic Imagination Project), D. Paul Schafer (Project Culturescape), Ken Wilber (Integral Institute), and Kirk J. Schneider (The Spirit of Awe). He has also consulted on special programs and projects for many diverse organizations and individuals.

Starting with his Mass Communications degree with an emphasis in Radio & TV from Chicago’s Columbia College, Riva established himself as the DJ and Master of Ceremonies of choice at events and venues worldwide and for renowned companies such as Ritz Carlton, Guggenheim Museum, Calvin Klein, Joffrey Ballet, Rolling Stone, Guess, Wolfgang Puck, Virgin, Paramount, and ESPN. Complementing this is his extensive track-record as a spokesperson, ambassador and consultant for global brands like Pepsi, Sony, Intel, Microsoft, Philips, DeLonghi, Nintendo, Toyota, Adidas, Panasonic and Cirque du Soleil.

As an experiential designer and event producer, Riva has conceived, created and presented more than 25 unique independent conceptual events and programs, including conferences, symposiums, salons, designer parties and expositions. Riva has also developed a number of innovative grant and award proposals for organizations such as The McArthur Foundation, LA2050, and Institute for the Future.

As a speaker, Riva has given talks and made presentations on the subjects of art, music, creativity, innovation, culture, flow theory and cyber-psychology for groups and events including University of Advancing Computer Technology, Palm Springs International Film Fest, World Future Society, Medicine Meets Virtual Reality, and New York Music & Internet Expo.

With his first book to be released in 2021, Riva has been writing and publishing for over a decade on Twitter and other platforms. Across the course of his career he has written music, art, culture and entertainment articles and reviews for popular publications including his own print zines, websites, newsletters and the self-published Ideapreneur Handbook: 25 Creative Thinking Strategies. In the process, he has interviewed and rubbed shoulders with many internationally recognized musicians and creatives and penned liner notes and essays for respected indie record labels and award-winning recording artists.
